Coconut Yogurt Smoothie Recipe

Coconut Yogurt Smoothie Recipe

This is just about the simplest and easy smoothie you could ever imagine. I usually make one whenever I know I’m going to be out of the office so I always have something on hand to keep my blood sugar from crashing (in case you’re wondering, the healthy fat from the yogurt and sunflower butter really help with this task!).

I also love knowing that I’m nourishing my microbiome (a fancy word for your gut bacteria) and the cinnamon gives this satisfying little drink a little bit of a natural sweetness and also it is known for its ability to balance your blood sugar too.

I like to use coconut yogurt and my local brand of choice of Yoso but of course you can use whatever brand you wish. Just try to make sure it isn’t loaded with a lot of refined sugar!

Here’s the recipe:
  • ½ cup (coconut) yogurt
  • 1 tbs of sunflower butter
  • ½ cup of ice
  • Handful of frozen fruit (personally I like using pre-frozen chunks of banana and/or blueberries)
  • A generous pinch of cinnamon!

Blend all of the above on high in your blender and pour into your favourite travel mug. Personally, I just use a mason jar.

Drink. Enjoy. And if you wish, repeat. And remember, this is a nourishing skin friendly, guilt-free snack!
