Medium-chain triglycerides, or MCTs, are a super-special type of fats (or fatty acid) that are six to 12 carbons in length.
There are both natural and synthetic MCT oils. The natural MCTs come from palm kernel oil, coconut oil, and dairy fats.
MCT in your diet has been show to improve memory, overall brain health, cardiovascular health, and immune health. It has also been shown to have antimicrobial and antifungal effects. Coconut oil in particular has been shown to reduce yeast and bacterial growth due to the high caprylic, capric and lauric acid content!
