Plant-Based BBQ Recipes

Ah it's finally summer - which means BBQ season is upon us!

It's time to bust out those glorious grills, and serve up some tasty dishes guaranteed to gather a crowd.

We have some ideas on how to cook up your favourite veggies!

Grilled Avocado: Who doesn't love avocado? It's an essential for a feel-good feast or backyard party. Slice an avo in half and place it on the grill for approximately 2 minutes. Brush it with a little extra virgin olive oil and drizzle with lemon or lime, and it's perfect on a bun, in a dip, or on it's own!

Portobello Mushrooms: A classic veggie burger sub for good reason! This hearty naturally smoky mushroom is a BBQ-must. Brush it with extra virgin olive oil and lay cap-down to keep it moist and maximize even grilling. Throw it between a bun, skewer it, or slice it. This is a total must-have for your grill.

Sweet Potato: Potatoes make the world go 'round. Grilling sweet potato is  a great way to add some healthy sweetness to your meal. Just wrap your sweet potato tightly in tin foil and throw it on the grill for 40 minutes until it squeezes soft. Additional toppings, such as chives, chili powder, or grilled red onion can really boost the flavor.

Corn on the Cob: There are unlimited ways to dress up (or dress down!) your corn on the cob. It's a summer staple, so you don't want to forget it! Try roasting it and adding some chili pepper, lime, and sea salt, or perhaps a little vegan creama for a nice twist!

Stuffed Roasted Tomatoes: Mix up your veggies skewers with a hearty main course! Slice off stem ends of the tomatoes and scoop out pulp. Mix some cooked quinoa, garlic, shallots, basil, and the tomato pulp together, stuff tomatoes, and grill on a veggie pan.

Cauliflower steaks: Cauliflower steaks are the most pleasing crowd-pleaser for good reason. They’re hearty, with an assertive savory flavor and satisfying texture. Cauliflower is great roasted, but it really shines when grilled. Slather this with BBQ Sauce and serve with rice, beans, and mango salsa.
