The holiday season often comes wrapped in expectations of sparkle and togetherness—but for many, it’s a quieter, more complex time. It doesn’t always look like the movies, and it doesn’t have to.
For me, the holidays have become less about doing and more about being. Since losing my Dad and navigating changes in my Mother’s health, this season has taken on a gentler rhythm—one that centers connection with a small circle of people who matter most. The biggest joy in my life is having my son home for the holidays, who lives far away in the Arctic!
Here in Toronto, the days are short and the nights long. I’m looking forward to slow moments: snowy walks with my dogs, Odie and Elf, long baths, home-cooked meals, self-care, journaling, and rest. It’s a time to remember that our bodies are our true home, and that caring for ourselves—truly caring—is an ongoing practice I’m still learning, even as the founder of a skincare brand rooted in self-care.
Whether your holidays are filled with gatherings or spent more quietly, I hope you find comfort, connection, and warmth in the simplest moments.
However you mark this season—Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, a New Year’s toast, or a pause before what’s next—please know you’re not alone.
Thank you for being such a cherished part of our community and being on this journey with us. We're only able to do what we do because people like you choose to prioritize your wellbeing, of which your skin plays such an important role!
With the warmest wishes
