Best Cleanser For Your Skin Type: Cream vs. Foam Cleansers

As the first step of your skincare routine, cleansing your face properly allows you to wash away make up and grime, enabling your serums, moisturizers and other treatments to penetrate more effectively.

Depending on your skin type, you may want to use a cream cleanser or a foaming one but we would highly recommend starting off with a cleansing oil.

Cream cleansers are ideal for those with dry or mature skin since they cleanse while moisturizing at the same time. Plus they don’t strip away your skin’s natural oils and wreak havoc on your skin barrier.

In our Aloe Milk Cleanser, we use aloe vera as the main active since its soothing properties can also help with those with red or inflamed skin. Perilla seed oil is full of antioxidants, omega 3 fatty acids and vitamin E to soothe and repair aging skin.

Foaming cleansers are helpful for those with oily and acne prone skin. Our Face Foam is ph-balanced and uses natural actives like apple cider vinegar which has antimicrobial properties to help reduce breakouts and act as a gentle exfoliant by removing dead skin cells. It also helps balance the oil and pH of the skin without disrupting your skin barrier.

For those with combination skin, you can always have the best of both worlds by combining a pump of Face Foam with a few pumps of our Aloe Milk Cleanser.

It’s important to use the right cleanser because using one that strips your skin too harshly will leave it feeling irritated and dehydrated. Using an aggressive cleanser repeatedly can cause you to produce even more oil. Nourishing cleansers can benefit dry skin in the short time but ones with a heavy residue can end up clogging your pores or causing break outs.
