Whether you’re looking for something a little sweet and tangy or just a satisfying breakfast, you can whip up this delish apple hemp crumble in no time.
It’s a flavourful dessert full of fiber, protein, complex carbs, vegan, healthy fats and is low glycemic so will satisfy everyone from a traditional dessert aficionado to your eco chic vegan, gf bestie.
Feel good about treating yourself to this because it’s seriously good for you and it will help give you a good kick of energy. It also travels well in a mason jar so you can take wherever you go.
Skin Tip: When you feel satisfied throughout the day, you’re much less likely to reach for a junk food treat.
Ingredients:
- 3 Macintosh apples
- 1 teaspoon of maple syrup
- 1 lemon
- 1/2 cup of hemp hearts
- 1/3 cup of sliced almonds
- 1/4 cup of coconut flour
- 3/4 cup of gluten free instant oats
- 1/8 teaspoon of raw vanilla bean
- 1/8 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon of finely ground sea salt
- 1/3 cup of coconut oil or ghee
- 1 tablespoon of honey

Directions
- Spiralize 3 apples and place into a baking pan.
- Drizzle with a tsp of maple syrup and the juice of a half a lemon. Cover and let sit for a bit while you make the crumble part.
- Blend ½ cup of hemp hearts, ⅓ cup raw blanched sliced almonds with a ¼ cup of coconut flour, ¾ cup of gf instant oats, ⅛ tsp raw vanilla bean, ⅛ tsp ground cinnamon, ⅛ tsp finely ground sea salt and ⅓ cup room temperature coconut oil (or ghee if you’re not vegan), along with a dollop of honey. Blend together with a large fork until crumbly and sprinkle over the apples.
- Pop the pan into a preheated over to 350. Cook for about a ½ until crumble look toasty and the apples are tender.
- Serve with vanilla coconut or almond yogurt. And have a guilt-free second helping ;)

For a little extra zing (as well as immune and digestive support), add 1 tsp freshly grated ginger to the apple mixture. And if you're grain-free you can substitute in an equal amount of the nut flour of your choice. Almond and hazelnut flour are my favourites.
